The next step will be to create a network of trained Health Volunteers connected to quality certified Doctors who in turn will be connected to a chain of small nursing homes, small hospitals and finally with the Rockland Medical Corridor for tertiary care.
Gastroenterology
The department of Gastroenterology at Rockland Hospital offers comprehensive services for the gastrointestinal complaints such as heartburn, ulcers, pancreatitis, hepatitis and colitis. The department of Gastroenterology focuses on early colon cancer detection and endoscopy. Often endoscopy is performed to visualize and examine the internal organs, which include the esophagus, stomach, duodenum, colon, liver, pancreas, and gallbladder. It is also a therapeutic procedure. Among them are colon polyps, intestinal bleeding, and stones in the bile duct.
A Team of gastroenterologists provide a highly specialized compassionate service to the local community. A high standard of care is given by all the staff within the department to meet the needs and expectations of our patients. Diagnostic capabilities include colonoscopy, endoscopy, ERCP amongst others. The Inflammatory Bowel Disease Clinic provides specialized care for patients with this chronic illness.

The Orthopaedics department of Rockland Hospital specializes in treating the broad spectrum of problems, providing complete diagnostic, therapeutic and rehabilitative services for patients of all ages needing treatment for problems related to the bones, joints, muscles and ligaments.
